“It’s flattering,” said Augustus on being chosen. “It’s a privilege and an honor, especially for a parade that is so significant because of everything that is going on with marriage and legalization. It’s important, and I’ll be out here celebrating with them.”
As a Minnesota transplant, Augustus has been impressed by the Twin Cities area and their support towards the GLBT community.
“Being from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, you don’t really see many celebrations like this down south. It’s great to see how comfortable people are up here.”
